Chief Executive Officer, Co-Founder & Chairman

Tim Vanderhook is Co-Founder, Chief Executive Officer, and Chairman of Viant Technology, an advertising software company which he co-founded with his brother, Chris Vanderhook, and the two took public in 2021. Mr. Vanderhook leads the company’s strategic and financial operations in addition to product innovation. Under his leadership, Viant Technology has grown and matured into a Nasdaq-listed company with $165.3 million in revenue for 2020, ten offices and more than 350 employees.

A serial entrepreneur, Mr. Vanderhook has raised private equity capital, executed numerous acquisitions and co-founded XUMO, one of the largest ad-supported Over-The-Top streaming services, which was acquired by Comcast in February 2020.

He is recognized for his digital advertising expertise and innovation having pioneered the development and standardization of digital advertising practices commonly used today, in addition to authoring several innovative technology patents, including Internet Connected Household Identification, Upfront Advertising Purchasing Exchange, and User Demographic Profile Methods.

Mr. Vanderhook is avid sports fan and resides with his wife Laura and their four children in Orange County, California.

Chris Vanderhook is Co-Founder, Chief Operating Officer and Board Member of Viant Technology where he oversees and manages Viant’s day-to-day operations. He is responsible for the strategic and operational leadership of the company including Sales, Marketing, Ad Operations and Customer Support. For more than 2 decades, Chris, alongside his brother Tim Vanderhook, has steered Viant’s mission of automating the planning, buying, and measurement of advertising through technology and innovation. In addition to Viant, Chris also co-founded XUMO in 2011, one of the largest ad supported Over-The-Top (OTT) streaming services, which was acquired by Comcast in February 2020. Vanderhook received a B.S. degree in Business Administration at the Marshall School of Business from the University of Southern California. He is a serial entrepreneur, youth sports coach and resides with his wife Heather and their four children in Orange County, California.

Mr. Valdes is a former Chief Financial Officer and Executive Vice President of First American Financial Corporation, a New York Stock Exchange-listed company. Prior to his retirement, Mr. Valdes held numerous financial positions over his 25 years at First American Financial Corporation, including Controller and Chief Accounting Officer. He currently serves on the board of directors and audit committee of First American Trust Company. Mr. Valdes brings a significant level of financial and management expertise to the board of directors. This experience also provides insight regarding public company reporting matters, as well as an understanding of the process of an audit committee’s interactions with the board of directors and management. Mr. Valdes is a CPA and earned a BA degree in Business Administration at the California State University, Fullerton.

Elizabeth Williams has served as Chief Executive Officer of Drybar Holdings, LLC, an owner of hair salons providing blowouts and hair styling products and accessories, since June 2020. Previously, Ms. Williams was President of Taco Bell International from January 2018 to January 2020, Chief Financial Officer of Taco Bell Corp. from October 2013 to January 2018, and Vice President, Financial Planning & Analysis of Taco Bell Corp. from 2011 to 2013. Ms. Williams currently serves on the board of directors and audit committee of Stitch Fix, Inc., a Nasdaq-listed company. Ms. William’s experience leading a global business and service on other public company boards brings important insight and guidance to the board regarding its responsibilities as a public company, as well as best practices in corporate governance. Ms. Williams earned a BA degree in Business Administration from University of Texas in Austin and an MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Ms. Yang has extensive experience in the media and technology industry. She served as the chief legal officer of The Trade Desk, Inc., a Nasdaq listed provider of a global technology platform for buyers of advertising, from August 2016 until July 2020 and as chief administrative officer and general counsel of RealD Inc., a NYSE-listed company that develops and licenses 3D and other visual technologies globally, from April 2014 to August 2016. Ms. Yang has also served as senior vice president & general counsel for CityGrid Media, a digital advertising network owned by IAC, and senior vice president, business affairs, finance and administration of the Global Media Group at Time Warner. She has held senior positions with eCompanies, LLC and Sony Pictures Entertainment Inc. Ms. Yang started her legal career at Latham & Watkins LLP after receiving her JD from Georgetown University Law Center. She earned a B.S. in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University and was a certified public accountant with KPMG prior to starting her legal career.
